A Bridal Shower in KC

I was able to go home for a short, but wonderful, 36 hours. It was a jampacked period of time with only 9 hours of sleep in three days! Thanks to the help of my wonderful family and friend we managed to get a lot of wedding tasks completed. It's so nice to check things off the list. Announcements are all going out this week!
I had the most amazing bridal shower in the history of showers. I had around 30 people there - family, close friends, ward members...I have seriously never felt so much love and support. It was so much fun and I received more presents than I ever imagine. Thanks so much to Trish (my second mom) for doing this for me.

Thanks Martha.

I love weddings that are very individualized to the couple. Thanks to Martha S., my mom and I are taking on a few of her ideas for the wedding.

Shout Out to my Future Hubby

Trev is amazing.
I've been having a lot of health problems lately and he has been incredible.

DIRTY TREV

CLEAN TREV

He never ceases to amaze me even as we approach a year together, as I learn more about who this man is.
Love is good.

I love Web MD

Sunday morning I woke up in EXCRUCIATING pain in my tail bone area. Poor Trev had to take care of me bc I could hardly move. I thought I had somehow busted my tailbone after a fall on Wednesday. I delayed my trip home to Utah a day b/c it hurt to even sit. I finally had to come back Monday night and cried the entire way from Rexburg to Orem bc of the pain. I only slept a couple of hours and when I woke up at 4am, I discovered I was in a small pool of blood. I won't go into sicko details, but just know - it was sick nasty.

I about freaked out, but remembered the power of the internet. I quickly researched on WEB MD and was able to diagnose myself. When I called my doctor, he agreed with my diagnosis. It was a cyst!

Point? The power of the internet saves lives....or at least helps.

General Conference

What a spiritual high General Conference leaves you with! I have always loved conference, but something was just different in me this time around. I found myself wanting to soak in every single word said. Thinking about becoming a wife and mother in the next year (or two!?) makes me thirst for more tools of which to use in raising children and creating a Christ-centered family.
Trevor was on a trip with his father to Iowa to pick up some cattle, but was able to listen to conference on the radio. We were texting back and forth like mad, sharing thoughts and ideas. I don't think my sweet fiance has any idea how much this meant to me. One thing he said tonight was "Remember the family Sister Beck talked about? YOU will have that family. You will love every day of your life" I LOVE THAT GUY!!!!
My favorite talk of the four sessions would probably be Elder Eyrings..OOPS..PRESIDENT Eyring (so cool!). I love the idea of recognizing God's blessings in your every day life. I need to be so much better at this. I can be so ungrateful. SO Here are some of the latest blessings in my life:

1) TREVOR JOHN ROCHE
2) An amazingly solid and loving family who sticks together through everything.
3) Sweet friends, the Fieldsteds who let me live with them for free till the wedding.
4) My 225 students who brighten each day with their laughter and love for life.
5) 24 Hour Fitness and my ability to expell hundreds of calories
6) My sister in Law Kali and our fun craft nights. :)
7) The gorgeous Fall leaves
8) The knowledge of temples and eternal families
9) My grandmother's pearls
10) The feeling only from studying the scriptures.

Uhhhh...Miss Ponder?

I am 100% convinced that teaching is the most entertaining occupation ever.

Example #1:
I have a student who I repeatedly have had to discipline for jokingly hitting on his young, blonde student teacher (aka me). He's a sweet boy and really just does it for laughs but I had to really come down strong last week. So now, he takes out his aggression on my poor, unexpecting fiancee. Said Conversation:

Girl student: Miss Ponder, what's your new last name going to be?
Me: Roche, like the bug.
Boy: Tell your fiancee, I SQUASH ROCHES.

Example #2:
As I was rushing out of my classroom after school today, two juniors who were not my students stopped me.

Mike: Miss Ponder, my friend has a question!
Me: Ok?
Other Boy: "No man, it's okay. I don't want to as her"
**At this point, I am fully preparing myself to answer some obscure, slightly embarassing sexual question. This occurs frequently as a HEALTH teacher***
Mike: JUST ask her...She's a health teacher. She knows this stuff!
Me: You can ask me any question! That's why I'm here!
Boy: Well, okay.....Well....How come people don't have diarrhea all the time?

Diarrhea. Apparently after 4 years of college, I am an expert on watery feces.

Lovely.
