The past two days, I have been REALLY sick. I'll spare you the details and NO, I'm not prego (I know certain friends of mine have asked.). When I finally got my appetite back, I had the STRANGEST craving for Arby's curly fries. This is strange bc I never eat fast food. My AWESOME husband went out in a blizzard to get me some. I love having someone take care of me and being able to take care of him. It's really a great deal. I'm wondering why I waited till I was 23 to bite the bullet. ;)
I'm sure a lot of u can agree!

Utah Visit
A couple weeks ago, I had to go down to Utah to take a teaching licensure test. It was so fun to be able to see my best friends as well as my brother and sister in law. Trev and I had a lot of fun!
I just adore this picture...my two bests! Morgan is getting married in the Spring! And Lace is going to be an EFY counselor! THey are both doing my two favorite things I have done in my own life! YIPPIE!
PS that's my new hair cut! Do you think it makes me look too "momish"?

My Birthday!
Growing up, birthdays in my family were HUGE! My mom always made a big deal out of making it feel like our special day. This birthday was different because I didn't have any of my best girlfriends around OR any of my Ponder family. :( Thanks Brooke and Lace and Becky for the sweet phone calls.
Trev really made it an amazing day! He's so great to me and knows just what I need. He took me to a matinee - "27 Dresses" which we both HATED.
That night he took me to a delicious Thai place we discovered. I love curry and chicken. Trevor likes red meat and potatoes. It's quite the sacrifice for him. I didn't feel like doing anything amazing so we went and rented "Blood Diamond" from a Clean Flicks. It was fabulous! Trevor surprised me with my birthday cake in the form of my favorite BAD indulgence, a Banana Cream Pie Shake! YUM!
I got a few presents which I am so excited about - I had to share. My husband is so good to me! And so is J. Crew. In Cardigan form
My parents sent me a gorgeous sweater and a few of my new "can't live withouts" such as: From my mother in law..The greatest makeup invention ever..
THANKS GUYS!

Reburg = Iceburg
Never in my life have I experienced anything like the bone chilling cold of Rexburg, Idaho. Now I know why I decided to go to Provo for college! The weather in the past week has reached a high of maybe 12 degrees - the low? Maybe negative 40!?
Yesterday I went out to my car to leave for work (I'm substituting and LOVE it!), only to find the doors of my car ALL FROZEN shut. Trev was already at work and I could NOT get ANY of the doors to open. I pulled and pryed to no avail. I was afraid I would break the handle or door! I got smart and went in for a bowl of hot water. I poured it around the seal of the driver's side door. IT WORKED; however I found I had gotten the door open enough previously to also get water all over my seat. Lovely.
I got in the car, put on my belt and attempted to shut my door. (Mind you it's still literally negative 13.) Attempted, key word. The water I had poured had INSTANTLY froze all around the seal and joints of the door. There was so much, the door would NOT shut. I had never experienced anything like this~!
At this point my whole body is NUMB and finger purple so I just went with it. I only had to drive about a mile to the Middle School so away I went. Holding my door half way closed the whole way. It was chilly.
I made it to work on time. No frostbite. At least none that I have found yet.

A Weekend in Denver
Trev and I met some of his family in Denver, Colorado for the National Western Stock Show. This basically means a TON of cows and a TON of cowboys. It was a bitter cold weekend, but we managed to have some fun. I was able to see one of my best friends from BYU who now lives with her husband in Denver. Sally and Drew even got us hooked up with suite tickets to the Nuggets/Jazz game! (Nuggest won - much to Trev's dismay) It was fabulous to spend some time with them.

Sweet Treat Day
This morning I went to the grocery store and left with this little puppy:
I never eat donuts...ever. But today, I think everyone should go buy a sprinkle donut. It brightens your day. Really.

Our First FHE
Trevor and I had our first FHE last night in our new home with just us! The night started with a song...Trev played Nirvana on his guitar and attempted to sing. Not exactly what I expected, but nevertheless...After a lesson, we had a wonderful treat and watched LOST (Thanks Kali P.!).
We had orange juliuses and popcorn. I found a great, simple recipe I thought I would share.
1 frozen orange juice concentrate
1 cup milk (better with 2% or higher)
1 cup water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup sugar (This was a little much for me, not enough for Trev)
ice cubes to reach desired texture (we put a lot)
SO yummy!

Favorite Wedding Presents
I have to rave on some of my favorite wedding presents. THe generousity of others has truly been a blessing as Trev and I have had to barely spend any money on setting up house; thus leaving extra funds for my gorgeous new knee high brown leather boots courtesy of J. Crew - my favorite store in the world.
Anyway..here are a few of my personal favorites in no particular order.
1) My bread machine. Thank you Emily and Ry. Nothing means home more than a steaming hot, soft, loaf of homemade bread. Made easily by the wonders of modern bread making technology.
2) My CocoaLatte. Thank you Ash and Bryan. You have to invest in one of these. They make the most frothy hot cocoa and steamed milk that competes with even Quick Trip (Please tell me you know what QT is!). Last night, Trev and I curled up in bed with our hot cocoa and books and this? Pure bliss.
3)Our matress. Thank you Sherri/Mom. I never had a great mattress in my life, so I had never seen the "other side." But seriously, a quality pillow-top mattress makes sleeping the best thing since my breadmaker. Gotta love Costco!
4) My piano. OH my piano. Thank you mom and dad. I have always grown up with music in my home and have played since I was 9. Though the piano was too big for our little abode and currently resides in a conex in Parma - I can't wait to fill our home with beautiful music and as a result, the Spirit.
Now it's your turn..What were your favorite wedding presents?

My sweet baby....
Trev surprised me when I came home from my hair cut (pictures to come...) with an AMAZING dinner. He is an awesome chef and gives me some major competition! A year ago yesterday was our first "official" date. He remembered! I'd have to say the dates just keep getting better....
YUM!

Our Moment of Fame
Our amazing wedding photographer, Dustin Izatt, used one of our engagement photos for a full page ad in Latter Day Bride. I am slightly embarassed, due to the fact I hate people looking at me; however, Dustin takes such amazing pictures he can make ANYONE look good. Anyway. Here's the ad:

Thanks Elder Ballard...
My dad sent me the following article and I thought I would pass on the message as it pertains to everyone reading....>
We cannot stand on the sidelines while others, including our critics, attempt to define what the Church teaches,” he said.
“While some conversations have audiences in the thousands or even millions, most are much, much smaller. But all conversations have an impact on those who participate in them. Perceptions of the Church are established one conversation at a time.”
Church leaders have publicly expressed concern that while much of the recent extensive news reporting on the Church has been balanced and accurate, some has been trivial, distorted or without context.
Elder Ballard said there were too many conversations going on about the Church for Church representatives to respond to each individually, and that Church leaders “can’t answer every question, satisfy every inquiry and respond to every inaccuracy that exists.”
He said students should consider sharing their views on blogs, responding to online news reports and using the “new media” in other ways.
But he cautioned against arguing with others about their beliefs. “There is no need to become defensive or belligerent,” he said.

Family Traditions
My family is HUGE on traditions. It seems like for every single holiday we have some tradition. Right after New Years, my awesome uncle takes the whole family out for a NICE dinner. This year it was at the famous Plaza III steakhouse in KC. It was a wonderful night with a surprise trip from my older brother Ryan! My uncle flew him out to surprise my mom!
It was a wonderful night....untill my dad had a heart attack. It was SO scary. We spent most of the night at the hospital. I have never been so grateful for my older brother and my wonderful husband - both worthy holders of the priesthood. My dad is okay, but the experience was scary!
Here are some pictures of the night. Pre-heart attack. :)

A Kansas New Years!
My sweet husband took me to Kansas for New Years! We drove out the Roche semi. Yes folks, a real live semi truck. We brought 75 cows out to Nebraska for Trev's dad, then drove three more hours down to KC to see my family and get our wedding presents/furniture! It was such a fun trip. My parents even surprised me with a PIANO. This is huge for me because I LOVE to play and always grew up w/music. Trevor is currently working on his rendition of Fur Elise! :)
We spent a fun NEw Years at our friends' Adam and Jen Long. As you can see Trevor LOVED staying up till midnight. HA! Honestly, Trevor and I are early to bed, early to rise type people and staying up this late hasn't happened in probably a year. Lame. I know. I'm getting old.
