Time to Confess

Okay folks, the real reason I haven't been blogging half as much is due to the fact I have been sicker than a dog the past month. Why you ask?

Possibly due to the fact a small human is currently residing in my womb and teaching me daily what sacrifice really means.

Yes, Trevor and I are having a baby. In true Mormon fashion. I'm not quite sure how it happened. Well, I am (Have u seen my husband?!)...but it was a surprise never the less. I'm still in shock. Trevor is the happiest little cowboy you've ever seen.

It's still a bit early. I'm 10 weeks, so assuming the baby (and I!) can survive the heat of Ecuador, we will be through the first trimester. I really wondered when to make the news public, but what the heck!? At this point, there's not much else I can do except pray for a healthy, adorable blonde bambino.

I never planned on having a baby this soon after marriage. Trev and I had talked about it a TON, but I had never actually taken the leap of committment. I was praying intensely the past few months regarding which road to take (as many of you know) in regards to obtaining my masters or starting a family. It was extremely difficult for someone like me who wants to do it ALL, but when I found out I was pregnant, it seemed so clear to me what Heavenly Father needed from me at this point. And don't worry, I'll get my masters eventually too!

There is another twist to the this story. A twist many of you do not know. I was diagnosed with Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome when I was 16 years old. (If any of you watch John and Kate Plus Eight, she has the same condition). As a result, I was told by many medical professionals and others that getting pregnant would be much more difficult for me than the average female. It was a haunting fear. Apparently, I proved them all wrong and am indeed Fertile Myrtle. I cry even thinking about it, because I truly thought this would be a long and difficult journey for me, Trev and our future little family.

So here we are. Roche baby is due Jan 24, 2009, the day after my 24th birthday (and he/she will NOT come early). I'm still sick, but it's getting a little easier each day. I even ran a few miles on Friday!! Morning sickness is morning, afternoon, and night sickness for me. I'm actually losing weight due to the fact I barf up every thing that goes in my mouth, but the doctor says I'm healthy and will gain it back in the next few months. Uh, good? :) I never thought I'd be excited to gain weight.

We got an ultrasound last week and everything looks fantastic. It was amazing to see the little creature (which Trev swears is really an alien) and hear a little heart. I'm terrified to think Heavenly Father would entrust a PERSON to someone like me who can hardly take care of herself. haha. But it's wonderful and we are stoked.

Trevor is determined it's a boy.

So cheers to babies. All you moms? I will need all the advice I can get.

The Roche family of little blonde headed ninos begins.

I was just as sick as you were and it was sooo awful! but I am feeling so much better now and i am 17 weeks along. It was crazy because the whole time I was so sick all these women who had babies and were pregnant kept telling me how they never got sick and everything was so great for them. all I could say was, "oh really?' Thanks thanks great. excuse me while i go throw up.
Anyway I hope you feel better!! I know your babies are going to be adorable because you two are a gorgeous couple!

Congrats Andrea! And don't worry about the morning (& night) sickness. I lost 20 pounds in the first trimester with Kristen, but I gained 16 of it back before I delivered... and she is a healthy and mostly normal young woman now. How exciting!!! I bet your Mom is thrilled!

Congrats little lady! My mom just told me the news a few days ago (probably already going through the ward gossip line) haha! Anyway, i'm so happy for you, you'll be a great mom. I hope you can get past the first trimester not feeling too too sick. I only have 3 weeks or less left and i'm freaking out. When did we grow up?

I knew it! I have known for so long! You never replied to all my comments so I knew you were just in denial! Now you get to have big mama boobs, and a belly to rest your food on. It doesn't get much better than that! I'm so happy for you. I need to see you so you can have some practice with Jay! By the way, Jay's was born January 29th. I guess early to mid-may is a very special time! We were in Hawaii... :)

WHERE HAVE I BEEN!!?!? OH MY GOSH!!! I cant believe it. It really does show you that only Heavenly Father can really decide what is best for you... something this big at least. I am extremely jealous of your situation but our time will come when it is supposed to so count your MANY blessings because I know of many many women who would die to have the surprise of being pregnant. I cant even BEGIN to tell you how HAPPY and excited I am for you guys. You will be a wonderful WONDERFUL mother! I cant wait to see his/her first baby pics out with all the cows on the farm...

Oh Andrea, this is such great news! You won't be a lonely rancher's wife when you have a little one totting around. As you know, Dan works 90 hour work weeks, but I never feel lonely because I've always got my little pal Bryson by my side.

I think you're going to have a girl and Trevor will love her more than anything. I just love that Carrie Underwood song "All-American Girl."

Dan actually kind of wanted a girl and was slightly disappointed to find out we were having a boy. Of course, he wouldn't change it for the world now!

Good luck in Ecuador. You'll be fine. When I was in the first trimester of pregnancy with Bryson we drove from Utah to Boston and back. Lots of throwing up went on along those highways.

So happy for you two!

Fun! So I know it's really presumptious, posting on your blog these days since I don't know you -but my cute husband knows lots of your friends so I give myself allowances (feel free to block me at any time - haha). I just think you are adorable. I love your fun blog and your cute personality. You're going to be a really fun Mom!! We got married almost seven months ago so it's been on my mind too. Congrats.

P.S.I am very late to leave a comment on this post, but I have been out of town and out of the blogging world.
