Twins Room

I am a horrible decorator. Actually, I don't think I would be that bad if three things were to occur:

1. I would spend money.
2. I didn't live in a rental.
3. If my husband wouldn't come home randomly with monstrosities he likes to call furniture. (Ask him about the desk....)

Our rental is not THAT bad. It has lots of space. LOTS of WIDE, open SPACE.....just look out my windows.. The problem is, it's REALLY worn. REALLY cheaply built. And really early 90's. But oh well, at least it has four bedrooms! These four bedrooms are in the strangest layout known to man. Master and Trey's room upstairs, two bedrooms downstairs.

Where to put the twins? The only room big enough for two cribs is downstairs. Might be an issue.

I found these picture yesterday...
Wouldn't teal and yellow be a gorgeous nursery?
Mom, come here for Christmas so we can paint before Trevor gets home.
If anyone stumbles across anything that would fit this motif, email me!
If I can't find it at Target, I can't seem to find it!

i do like teal and yellow. my twin's room is yellow and light green with touches of pink. Mostly yellow. To be honest, I kept the twins in the same crib up until 15 months. Most i have talked to seperate them around 8-10 months. I kept them in my room until they started sleeping through the night. around 3 months. They shared the travel lite porta crib. LOVED IT!!! perfect size for them and my room. they are used to eachother, I bet they will like to be near each other out of the womb too. AFter they sleep through the night and you put them in a seperate room, just get the video monitor. ASK for it at your baby shower! THE BEST THING WE'VE OWNED!!!!! I can't express how much I loved it with the twins. I've tried a few brands and kinds...but there is one that works the best! doesn't have stupid frequency interferences. I will email you which one. have fun decorating :) I like the ikea cribs too!

ADORABLE! I'm aiming for yellows and greens, so if I come across anything wonderful, I'll let you know.

I'm sorry about your weird layout. We have a rental where you have to walk through the loft to get to Jack's room...and Julia's room is going to be the loft. I sense a lot of sleepless nights due to 2 kids who wake each other up constantly :)

P.S. I'm so glad your girls will have each other...I seriously feel bad for single kids (like Jack) that have to sleep in a room by themselves...scary :(

I love the teal/yellow combo... when I was looking for idea's for Abby's nursery I had picked out robins egg blue/teal, yellow, and hot pink as a small accent... I had the whole thing planned out.. then we went broke trying to finish up our house and get it on the market and moving clear across the country.. so, she ended up with a hand me down from a friend that was FREE! It is still really cute though and I'm grateful for free :) Anyway, I love your nursery idea! our house in Longview was the same way as your rental, 2 bedrooms on the main floor, the other two upstairs.. not so great for when you have small children.. but our renters have preteen and teenage daughters and LOVE the layout.. so, i guess good for when the children are older. Good luck!

i am definitely a little envious you get to plan an entirely new nursery. all i get to do is change out bedding and a few decor items. boo.

i will def let you know if i come across anything! love the look! and you should def add some pink accents. :)

i came across that nursery a while ago and have been in love ever since. if you go that way, it will be perfect! i'm currently doing the hoop circles with fabrics over the cabinets in my laundry room!
easy & cheap.

the bedding I want is from land of nod...wayyy expensive, but I think I might just get parts of the set and not the whole thing...

keep sharing your girl finds, too!

and, Andrea, I've been eating McDonald's on a weekly basis...and I'm not having twins and I think I've probably gained 10 lbs this month (I'll keep you posted ;))

Super cute!! I think you would love turquoise walls. We painted the top half of Macie's room turquoise and the bottom white and every time I go into her room it makes me happy. It's so bright and cheerful and could still work for if we had a boy next. Also, I feel you on the layout! That's how our house is...and I am already stressed for when we have another baby because we will have to stick Macie in the basement all by herself. I'm sure it will be fine, I'm just a worrier. :) Anyway, can't wait to see how your nursery turns out!

beautiful colors!! I kept my twins in the same bassinet and then crib until they were about a year old. They really liked each other and slept well touching each other. (we found out the hard way in the beginning when we initially had them in seperate bassinets) Just a thought, in case you don't want to strain the budget all at once. A second crib could come a year later.

Agree, agree, agree. Keep them together, in your room. Birth is traumatic enough without being separated from your Mom and your BFF.

You pick out the paint and we'll get dad to paint. He loves to do that and is very good. So dad paints, you, me and Katie shop!
Love the button lamp.

I will hit this amazing fabric shop near KU and send samples back with the Katester.

Thank you for making my day better with the positives in life. You turned my frown upside down! :-O
