Wedding Planning...ADVICE NEEDED

I have a confession...wedding planning is not as fun as I always thought it would be. I am reaching the point of eloping. I just want to be married to my honey in a temple for time and all eternity. That's all. I don't care about colors. I don't care about cake. I certainly don't care about centerpieces. All I can think about is Trevor.

Thus, I'm having a hard time with decision making. SOMEONE HELP. Here are the big decisions I face at the moment.

1) I want my bridesmaids in black. I can't find dresses that are black, appropriate for the early winter, and don't cost a butt load.

2) Trev and I have to find a place to stay our wedding night in Nauvoo. I'd prefer to avoid the mom and pop bed and breakfasts on main street...even tho they are the only thing in the town. I would feel rather uncomfortable knowing Grandpa Larry and Grandma Gertrude are in the next room with paper thin walls seperating us. (Pseudo names used to protect the innocent).

3) Nauvoo should be bigger. We need a place to have a wedding dinner after the sealing.

4) I can't decide on a wedding announcement picture. Here is the announcement (but with a black bow)

5) I have no idea how to wear my hair. Here is the dress:

oh my goodness... im freaking out about how much i love your dress! umm... about the dresses? Shade clothing has a line of dresses that are all black! They came out last year for all times of the year (summer...winter) check them out online or you can call my sis who is a rep. she could help you out alot if you like them. I think this month is 20% off everything... i dunno.. ill have to check into it for you. Sorry.. i know how you feel. Hang in there.. its worth it when you look back after its all done!

Oh Andrea...I feel your pain! I can't believe you have to plan this wedding from Utah! Planning is hard enough when you're in the town that you're getting married in, but since you're so far away, it presents some difficulties! :(

I read all of your comments and did some researching. First of all, Nauvoo should be bigger. haha. As I was reading on this website http://www.sonoragardens.com/
the lady says that she offers honeymoon packages. And, that's what a lot of the people say. If it were me, I would seriously call and ask if any of the places were vacant, so that you could have the whole place to yourself. Because, I agree...you don't want Gertrude and Larry listening in on your fun :-)

I love your announcement...I think any of your pictures will look great, they're all so beautiful.

I would keep your hair loose with that dress, since it's a romantic dress, with that lace...but, my advice is wear it how you're comfortable, otherwise, you'll think you look dumb in your pictures.

I don't know what your style for bridesmaid dresses is, but I like these two (then, again, they may be too cold because of the short sleeves):

Alright, girl...those are a few of my tips :) Keep blogging your woes, hopefully we can help you find a solution!

I don't know if you got my email, but I love this dress more than the other ones I posted...with the ivory underneath, it makes it look a little more wedding and a little less funeral...I think it would be absolutely stunning:

The Salon my mom works at is amazing...Ryan and I have gotten massages there twice! They can do all sorts of spa things...manicure, pedicure, massage...etc. The phone number is (541) 881-1447 and the website is www.salonsalonandthespa.com

If you want to book something for Nov., I would do it this weekend because they are really busy. My mom is working on Saturday, so you should call then :) I told her that you might be interested in a pampering day...

Andrea!! I didn't even know you had a blog....

I totally understand!! I think you should just elope!! Just kidding, but Ryan and I thought about it a couple of times....

As far as bridesmaids....I just told all mine to find their own dress. I told them the color it needed to be and then they found their own. I'm not sure if you want everyone to look exactly alike or not, but that made things way easy for me!!

I LOVE your dress. It's similar to mine. Personally, I really wanted my hair up since the neck goes up to high in the back....I wanted it to be seen. I agree with your friend though, you want to feel beautiful and like yourself, so if you don't like your hair up, don't do it.

I can't remember your other questions. But, I love you and hope you're doing well!! Seriously, please call sometime if you want or if I can help you at all!

Love the dress and the invitations! I opted to wear my hair up because then i knew it wouldn't go flat and it was out of my way. Bobby pins and hairspray made it look great for the whole day! :) You'll be beautiful!

haha, oh wedding planning. Once it's all over you will think back on it and it will feel like a dream. The day goes by so fast and you can hardly remember it! good luck with the plans. I love the invit and dress!

For the black dresses I think that you should just have everyone wear one that they either already have. Jenna did that and then everybody was comfortable in the dress they chose and it gave the wedding party a little demension. Then you don't have to worry bout getting the sizes, the dress and spending the extra money! Everbody needs a black dress!
