Healthy Overhaul

Being pregs and nursing the past year and 9 months has pretty much enabled me to eat ANYTHING and not gain too much weight. Thank you baby maker. Nonetheless, the days of oreos and sugar cereal have clogged my arteries. and my pores. and apparently now, my thighs.

Now, I want to get in great shape and HEALTHY just in time for baby #2 to ruin it all again. haha. (not an announcement)

I'm pretty schooled in the art of healthy eating but I am in desperete need for SNACK ideas. I snack all day long and want to know what you eat for healthy snacks.

And sorry, celery does nothing for me.

And while we're at it. WHAT are u doing for your lovers for Vday? I'm so not romantic.

I've got nothing for you on V-day.. I'm SO not romantic either!

Being pregnant makes me the QUEEN of snacks.. I snack all day long!I have a bunch that I do but some of my favorites that I think are decently healthy are:
1/2 whole wheat english muffin toasted with a little bit of Peanut butter, 1/2 an apple and a string cheese. ( I do halves bc I give my daughter the other half of the snack ;))

1/2 a yogurt, 1/2 wheat toast w/ butter or PB.. whatever, and 1/2 a handful of grapes and another 1/2 handful of almonds.

1/2 cup cottage cheese with drained, cup of pairs and some wheat thins.

to me, these are healthy but satiating at the same time. Anything with a good combo of fiber and protien in a good portion is probably best ;)

PS. I totally felt the same way about my body after nursing and pregnancy was done.. it totally changed and I had to be consistant on exercise and eating healthy in order to keep the standard that I desired. Good luck! Nothing like starting to really concentrate on getting your body looking good to get the fertile vibes flowing.. ha ;)

Check out above link. I have only tried the apple crisps and they are so Y-U-M! All natural and yet they (usually!) fix my need for sweets cravings. Much, much better than other dried fruit items. I have heard the other fruits are tastey too. Blog about the good snacks you try out!

Apples with peanut butter, fiber one granola bars (don't let the name fool you, they are fabulous!), baked tostitos and salsa, frozen fruit and fat free reddi whip, sliced kiwi, frozen gogurts. Does that help?

and oh yeah, pickles! You either love them or you hate them but pickles only have something like 25 calories!

I just stumbled onto a new blog that I love: trainermomma.blogspot.com She is super fit and healthy and she gives a rundown of what she eats most days. She has some really good ideas. Take a look.

I love apples and peanut butter but if you want it don't by the normal skippy, peanut butter has been had so many added things to it to make it really not healthy. So i buy Adams 100% natural peanut butter. the only ingredients are peanuts and 1% or less of salt. You look at skippy or the other big brands and there are a million things in it. peanut butter should be peanuts right? I really do love it too. The texture is a little bit different but I think it is fabulous!

POPCORN!!! Smart Pop by Orville Redenbacher (I have no idea how to spell that) is only like 300 calories for the ENTIRE bag. Yum.
