Games with bro and sis in law. I won. Ryan cheated.
Trey and Maddie. Lion cousins. (Not Trey's real costume, but an excellent last minute find!)
Leave it to my child to find the cows and not want to leave.
Lion. Very Overwhelmed by the masses of children screaming and the idea of free candy.
love.
What he lacks in speech he makes up for in coordination.
Straight to the golfing game. Again, Trevor's been brainwashing.
Loves his "BUDDIES!" ("He calls all his uncles "BUDDY!")
I went to Kansas and forgot my camera. (Totally not shocking with my lack of brain function lately). Luckily, my mom snapped a few for us.
We're finally back in town after a 2 week stint. SO much to catch up on, when all I really want to do is sit and eat hamburgers while watching the last 2 weeks of the Office and Greys. Stay tuned for lots more updates.
We've been busier than normal. Right now, Treyson and I are in Kansas to visit and for my best friend's (from HS) wedding. It's been a blast, but I think I'm more tired than before we came! All worth it! Poor Trevor has been left home, slaving over the bovines and working 12+hour days. I guess it all evens out when you consider the 20lb pack of potatos I currently carry on my front (uh....and thighs) and the 26 lb child I heft around in my arms. You'd think with all this weight lifting, I would NOT be getting soft. Jokes on me.
Everyone in the wedding, including the Priest, about had an ulcer watching me walk up the 5 ceramic steps to the podium, TWICE, in 3 inch heels in order to do the readings at the wedding ceremony. I didn't trip and didn't stutter. Praise the Lord.
Here's the only picture I have managed to acquire. My skinny hot friend is Brooke, the bride. The girl in the mumu is me. Are we seeing the huge belly growth? It practically covers up Brooke in this picture. And yes, Spray tans are God's gift to white girls.
A couple weeks ago, Angela Rose and Colton were in town visiting her sister in Boise. Angela and Mike were both friends with Trevor and I freshmen year. It's crazy to see we have kids the same age now! I love how so many of our college friends will have kids all at BYU together in a few years! (Yes. Our kids will be cougars. They have no choice...well, Harvard is acceptable too.)
It was pretty much impossible to get a picture of these two together.....
Quick version of the story: Went in for a routine checkup. Doctor only heard one heartbeat on the moniter. Called for an u/s. Turns out, both babies had SAME. EXACT. HEART RATE. Pretty rare, but nothing at all wrong. This is why the doctor wondered if it was just one heartbeat. The u/s tech did a QUICK look at the genders. I was a little worried since Trevor wasn't there, but he assured me I should find out if possible. Treyson WAS there, playing in the u/s goop. He thought it was great.
So let me know what YOU think looking at these ultrasound shots. Sorry they aren't very clear. Picture of a picture obviously. Can you guess which is which? How sure are you? The U/S tech said at 17 weeks, she can only be 75% sure. This is why Trevor at first wanted to wait to tell people....but we'll see for sure Oct. 29.
BIG BROTHER WHO WEARS THESE BOOTS EVERYWHERE and HATES pictures:
BABY B: BABY A:
No matter what the genders are, we really don't have a preference. I know that sounds cliche, but it's really true. We're just praying harder than ever in our lives that things go smoothly, and these babies are able to come out HEALTHY.
Oh, and the tech thinks baby B is a boy and baby A is a girl. BUT, baby A is obviously a little more difficult to tell. It does look different than baby B's obvious man parts.
Thanks for your excitement. It makes US excited and worry less.
Is naming a child a battlefield in anyone elses home? Or are we just dysfunctional.....
Naming TWO children is like pulling teeth, with tweezers.
Every name I love for a boy has TRevor convinced he will develop homosexual tendencies (the baby. Not trevor).
Every name for a girl HE picks out makes me feel like her future profession will involved a POLE. Trevor likes the name TIMBER for a girl. Forget the fact that I am the shortest in MY family at 5'8 (brothers/dad all far over 6ft., mom 6 ft.) or that Trevor has a sister who is 6'0" (Plays bball at UVU). Yes, we should name our daughter, who has the potential to be very tall and thin...TIMBER. THAT wouldn't get her made fun of!
Not to mention twins have to sound okay TOGETHER, but not SO similar that they are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. We actually liked the names Jack and Colby. Till we switched the order. Kill me.
If anyone has any non cheese related suggestions or "DONTS" I would love to hear them. I might not listen, and you might hate my children's names, but it's okay....so might my husband.
Have you guys seen the movie/documentary, BABIES? It's in the RedBox so get it. It basically compares a babies first year of life in different parts of the world (San Francisco, Africa, Mongolia, Japan) Get it and watch it when your husband is gone though. Trevor watched the first 5 minutes and had had enough of the African mom boobs, hanging to their waist.
Here's the trailor:
It's cute, but really thought provoking for me too. I've had conversations with a few friends about this lately. I've felt a little wide eyed lately about all the "stuff" we'll need for twins. This movie made me remember that moms in Zamabawhia (Yes, I realize this is not a real African location, but I can't remember what it is in the movie) do it without fancy crib bumpers, without all glass/BPA free bottles, without baby Gap, HECK, they do it without DIAPERS AND WIPES. And anyone that tells me I can't nurse twins....This African mom nursed a baby and a 2 year old on a diet of mush...or something. HER supply was never low!!!!!
Anyway. Just made me remember how complicated I, and our society as a whole makes the whole process. How paranoid we are. Then again, we are so lucky to have the medical advances we do have. So many of our children might not be here or might not be as healthy without the technology we have here.
Go watch the movie. If anything, it will make you feel better about your boobs.
Speaking of, (Sorry Ryan...my brother...the only man who might read this). Anyone who has been pregnant more the once...Did you have different symptoms with different GENDERS of babies? I've had a lot of different experiences, but I don' t know if it's twins or possible a gender issues.
Trevor likes to take Treyson out for some one on one time every so often. I am grateful b/c let's be honest...moms aren't as fun as dads. I think we would be if we didn't have laundry...mopping....cooking...pregnancy etc. :) Anyway. They went to a movie at the dollar theater and TReyson lasted an hour. I am so grateful Treyson is obsessed with his father. No doubt, this will be a blessing come March (and every other day considering he ONLY wants his dad to give him baths, feed him, change his diapers etc...:))
