Hot Mom Syndrome

I had a conversation with a friend today about what I will deem "hot mom syndrome" or "HMS"Maybe it is my five years living in UTAH, (aka capital of all things hot mom) but I am starting to feel an unseen pressure to be a "HM." Problem is, I don't even have children. *Disclaimer - if you are offended, I'm sorry.**

Now we all know what a "HM" consists of. Bleach blonde hair or possibly jet black - bonus points for extensions. Incredibly fake (but "hot") tan. Synthetic breasts. Ceramic nails. Thin body courtesy of the 3+ hours a day of exercise combined with the "Don't eat" diet. Perfectly arranged and in fashion outfits topped off with the wedge heels and plethora of silver jewelry. Full out Mac makeup job on a daily basis. Driving around in a black SUV complete with 3 children, under 3, all in car seats.

I'm curious as to if anyone else is starting to feel like this the NORM. Don't get me wrong, I fully endorse not "letting yourself go" post-child, but it is odd to me how it is almost standard in a lot of our community cultures. In addition, as appealing a goal as it sometimes seems to me - I honestly don't comprehend how any woman (even WITHOUT 3 kids) can ever keep it up. It is a burden even NOW for me to put on makeup daily. And hair? Ya, I never do that. Not to mention HOW DO THEY AFFORD IT? Much less find the time to keep it up.

It takes a lot of work/dough to be able to keep up that bleach and that tan.

I'm just curious as to if anyone else has noticed this phenomenon. Is it limited to the Utah/Arizona/California areas? Is it related to the LDS culture? Do you know someone like this? How do they do it? Do you want to be a self titled "hot mom"?

Just curious.
Oh and if anyone is wondering, I fully plan to wear seasonal sweatshirts and gain 20 lbs post-3rd child.

PS My mom is beautiful and I have included no pictures of hot moms so as to protect the innocently chemically enhanced.

Another South Grad.

My little sister, Katelin, graduated from high school on Sunday. We were sad we couldn't be there but so proud of her!
We Love you Katie!

PS How ridiculously good looking is my family?

A Visitor.

Since we moved into our new place, I have been telling Trev there are mice in our house. It was really just a joke with no real thoughts of mice. I was just scared to be in a new house, in the middle of nowhere (relatively), with little to no light at night. I'd lie in bed and hear all these strange noises and say, "Trev, hear the mice? They are here!"

** You see where this is going? **

I hate mice. I am SO mice-phobic. I just associate mice with dirtiness, homeless people and alleys. On Monday night, Trev and I are curled up on the couch watching the season finale of "The Hills," (PS Next season will be SO much better) when I suddenly see (mind you, it is PITCH black) two little evil, beady eyes staring RIGHT at me from behind the TV.

Utter Hysterics.

Now, I was not just screaming. I was SHRIEKING, BAWLING my eyes out and hyperventilating. I was actually freaking out so much, Trev got MAD at me. (Creating more freakage). I made him carry me into the bedroom, (and lock the door) while I stood on the bed and continually screamed.

Trev caught the mouse and killed it. Stupid creature deserved it. Then he had to come and console me. A more daunting task I'm sure.

I didn't sleep a wink that night bc I had repeating nightmares of mice. I wear UGGS around my house no matter what now bc I'm so scared the little B has a mother or siblings. AND I refuse to go in our basement. All my in-laws think I'm nuts probably.

Mice might be a frequency in the country, but they will NOT be in my home. Trev will make sure of it. Yet another reason to struggle with living in Parma.

And PS, my house is immaculately clean and there are no alleys around.

Tears were shed.

I like my mom. I like Trevor.

Here's to the Summer

Constant dance parties.
Getting every single man with a boat to be our friend.

DC runs

Camping. Lots of it.

Santa B tans.

Sporting events. Prof. players.

Obsession with U rugby players.
More boating. Lace? Absence in photos noticed.
Apparently my friends and I are all old, married/engaged/career driven. This weekend brought up much talk of past summers - unadulterated by husbands, jobs, or lawns to be mowed (or in my case, cows).
Hence, a trip down photo memory lane is in need. Here's to the nights of KKT. And to future nights of second generation KKT.

Prom Season Continued...

My sister in Law, Kimbra, went to prom this weekend...

Honestly, I was NEVER half this hot.

I Miss AZ

I went for a wonderful long weekend to AZ for Morg and STu's wedding. I was able to see TONS of friends/family, soak up some sun, and actually get some social interaction. Thank you Lish for all your hospitality ( LOVE U) and Morgan for hosting a wonderful marriage shin dig.
It was amazing, and honestly, I wanted to stay. Actually, I missed Trev...just not Idaho. (It's still extremely difficult to adjust)

Here are some pics of the weekend. I swear, all I did was take horrible ones of myself. I don't know what's up with that.

Our Little House

Our little house in Parma really is adorable. It's like a little doll house.

This is the view from the front porch and a view of the front porch and door.

The inside is cute as well, but you can only see it if you come visit. (I'm lonely).
